Santa Barbara Shopping

Stearns Wharf
Shops along the 1,950-foot pier of Stearns Wharf offer great souvenirs, unique gifts, resort apparel, jewelry, and fishing supplies. Devil and the Deep Blue Sea, Mother Stearns Candy Company and Old World Treasures are just a few of the shops visitors enjoy exploring. One of the oldest working piers in California, Stearns Wharf has plenty of maritime ambiance to enjoy while shopping. Fee-based parking is available along the pier and free parking is available in several waterfront parking lots.

Waterfront & The Funk Zone
Everything a beach lover needs can be found just a block or two away from Skater's Point and Santa Barbara's East Beach. Shops specializing in surfboards, paddle boards, skateboards, swimsuits and other recreation supplies are scattered around the waterfront area. A variety of eclectic shops in the area give the area its other name, "The Funk Zone." Some of the shops have a bohemian flair while others offer specialties for refined palates. The area is home to wine shops and tasting rooms and stores specializing in home furnishing and decor, vintage apparel and children's clothing. Street parking is available throughout the area.

State Street
Serious shoppers love the variety, creativity, and atmosphere of the shops along Santa Barbara's State Street. Stores on the boulevard range from high-end Coach and Saks Fifth Avenue to unique, independent stores. In addition to the many individual shops along the way, State Street is home to upscale shopping center, Paseo Nuevo.

Paseo Nuevo
Built to complement the rest of State Street's charming Mediterranean architecture, Paseo Nuevo shopping center has brick-lined pathways lined with fountains, flowers and street lamps. Stores include Nordstrom, Macys, Abercrombie & Fitch, Bebe, Papyrus, L'Occitance en Provence, Bettie Page Clothing, Lucky Brand Jeans and dozens of other stores. Paseo Nuevo includes a large parking garage, which may offer the most convenient parking for a day of shopping along State Street. Parking on surrounding streets is available, but often congested.

La Cumbre Plaza
Drive a few minutes north from the beach to enjoy the range of stores in La Cumbre Plaza. This traditional mall-style center includes anchor stores JC Penney, Macys, and Sears. Tiffany & Co., lucy, J. Jill, Gymboree and Love Culture are just a few of the other stores to make La Cumbre Plaza a pleasant place to shop. Parking is ample in the lots surrounding the center.

Posh shopping in the glamorous village of Montecito is just a couple of minutes' from Santa Barbara's East Beach. The lush boutiques, galleries, and jewelers along Montecito's Coast Village Road often invite comparisons to Beverly Hills' Rodeo Drive, although the area is not as extravagant. Parking is available along Coast Village Road.
